Join the Friends of Yellagonga Regional Park for Clean Up Australia Day and help care for one of our most loved wetlands.

This is a great opportunity to give back to the park, meet like-minded locals, and make a visible difference to Lake Goollelal and its surrounds.

When:
Sunday 1 March 2026
8:30am – 9:30am (early start to beat the heat)

Where:
Lake Goollelal
Meeting point: Corner of Montessori Place and Goollelal Drive. (The City will collect rubbish from this location following our event)

Clean-up area:
We’ll head south around the lake towards Hepburn Avenue, possibly as far as Waldecks Garden Centre, then return the way we came.
If we have lots of volunteers, we can cover the area quickly and may adjust the route accordingly.

What to bring:
– Closed-in shoes
– Hat and sunscreen
– Water bottle
– Gloves (if you have them – we’ll have spares)
– A bucket for collecting rubbish (often easier than carrying large bags)

This event is suitable for families and all fitness levels. Even one hour of your time helps protect wildlife and keeps rubbish out of our waterways. We’d love to see you there. Every pair of hands makes a difference.
